My first "pennies treasure" was a small donation towards a Jesus Well sponsored through Gospel for Asia. Although far from the total amount required to build one well, these small "financial drops in the buckets" added along with larger amounts which are donated by others ALL work together to produce enough funds needed for these special life giving ministries.
I can lay claim to providing a few essential cups of water for those who are desparately thirsting, not only for fresh clean water free of contamination and dirt... but also for the Living Word which can set them free. A very worthwhile investment indeed!
As an individual, I don't have enough funds to cover the drilling of an entire well, but a large congregation who pooled all their pennies (and perhaps a bit of other "small change") for a three months period could! And that's the point of the Pennies from Heaven Project, large or small... EVERY pennies treasure counts!
